  1. VHF - 135.50

Airspace

  1. All airspace from the SFC up to but not including FL240 (or FL600 when High Area Sectors are closed) within the lateral limits of the sector as depicted on the Sector Diagram excluding any TRACON airspace.
  2. Shall assume control of the following TRACONS when the sectors are not manned
    1. Norfolk TRACON
    2. Cherry Point Approach Control

Arrival Routing

Raleigh-Durham (RDU) TRACON

  1. ARGAL 5 arrival, with clearance to cross FKN at FL200

Handoff to “Washington Center” DC_E_CTR (124.05)

Norfolk (ORF) TRACON

  1. DRONE 1 arrival, cross DRONE at 11,000

Handoff to “Norfolk Approach” ORF_APP (118.9) over CVI

Fayetteville (FAY) TRACON

  1. ISO V157 FAY, cross ISO at 16,000 with clearance to cross 30nm east of FAY at 8,000

Handoff to “Washington Center” DC_C_CTR (135.2)

Wilmington (ILM) Approach Control

  1. ISO V70 ILM, cross 30nm north of ILM at 11,000

Handoff to “Wilmington Approach” ILM_APP (135.75)

New York (N90) TRACON

  1. Kennedy- SIE CAMRN 4 or SIE HOGGS CAMRN
  2. La Guardia- PXT KORRY2 or PXT ENO RBV
  3. Newark- PXT DYLIN2 or PXT DQO ARD

    Handoff to “Washington Center” DC_F_CTR (132.55) at cruise altitude

Philadelphia (PHL) TRACON

  1. SWL VCN7 or SWL SIE VCN OOD

Handoff to “Washington Center” DC_F_CTR (132.55) at cruise altitude

Handoffs

TRACON’s within ZDC

Place all handoff requests at least 20nm and 5000ft prior to the aircraft leaving your sector to be sure that the TRACON is able to accept the aircraft

Center sectors within ZDC

Place all handoff requests at least 15nm prior to the aircraft leaving your sector to be sure the receiving facility can accept the aircraft

Neighboring Center sectors (ZJX, ZNY Oceanic)

Place all handoff requests at least 50nm prior to the aircraft leaving your sector to be sure the receiving facility can accept the aircraft

All handoff requests to oceanic sectors shall be made through the chat box or landline not using the automated handoff request feature

Transfer of communication

The transfer of communication shall occur at least 5nm and 1000ft from the end of your sector. You must be sure that the aircraft has sufficient time to contact the next controller prior to leaving your airspace.

Unless coordinated with the next sector, all aircraft must be at 1X prior to the transfer of communication.
